What does flight ticket guarantee mean?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 10:59 AM

The Flight Ticket Guarantee (“FTG”) from “International Passenger Protection” ensures that the Booker (you) will receive a refund for the cost of the booked flight tickets in the event of (or imminent) bankruptcy of the airline. This FTG is valid if it is indicated on the invoice and if the FTG amount has been received by Airtrade.

In the shopping cart, you can choose whether or not to add the FTG.

If a booked flight is canceled during the trip and you need to book a new flight, we will reimburse:

  • The cost of the canceled flight, or
  • The cost of the direct return trip;

The maximum reimbursement is €2,500 per insured flight ticket for which the trip is canceled due to an event covered by the FTG.

The flight ticket guarantee does not apply if the (imminent) bankruptcy results from:

  • Acts of war or invasion by foreign hostile powers, hostilities, or warlike operations (whether or not after a declaration of war);
  • Civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, civil commotion amounting to a rebellion, riots, strikes, lockouts;
  • Military or other coup, state of siege, confiscation, destruction, or damage to property by or on behalf of a government or public or local authorities.
  • Costs covered by another provision or insurance.
