Am I entitled to EU compensation?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 11:25 AM

If your flight is delayed by 3 hours or more, you may be eligible for financial compensation according to European regulations (EU Regulation 261/2004).Eligibility for compensation depends on several factors. If the delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances, such as strikes, severe weather, or security issues, the airline may not be liable for compensation.

If the delay was due to other reasons within the airline's control, you likely have the right to compensation. The amount of compensation depends on the flight distance:

  • Short flights (up to 1,500 km): €250
  • Medium flights (1,500 km to 3,500 km): €400
  • Long flights (over 3,500 km): €600

How to Apply for Compensation

You must submit the compensation claim yourself. Unfortunately, we cannot process these claims on your behalf. You can request compensation directly from the airline or use a claim agency. Several claim agencies online can assist in filing your claim for compensation.
